The Chinese company Oppo, becoming one of the two leading manufacturers of smartphones in the domestic market, is now actively developing foreign markets, in particular, North Africa and Middle East. This is reported by the Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes .
According to industry sources, Oppo is increasing its smartphone shipments in a total of 27 countries, including New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan. In addition, Oppo opened a distribution center in Egypt to increase sales of its devices in the Middle East and North Africa.
Recall that in the fourth quarter of 2016, Oppo took the first place in China in sales of smartphones. Its share in the local smartphone market is 18.1%. Increase its presence in the Chinese market Oppo was able to thanks to almost 200,000 retail outlets where its smartphones are sold.
Sources say that currently Oppo is expanding its distribution channels outside of China. For example, now there are about 25 retail stores Oppo in Taiwan, although in May 2016 there were only 9. In February 2017, Oppo was one of the top five smartphone manufacturers on the Taiwanese market, behind only Samsung, Apple, Asus and HTC.
