While Firaxis persistently pretends that it is trying to solve numerous technical, gameplay and game design issues in Civilization VI, the sales of Civilization V naturally reached an epic figure. According to the statistics provided by the SteamSpy site, the number of Steam accounts with access to Civilization V reached ten million. It is worth noting that this result was a long game for 6.5 years, because, recall, its release took place in September 2010.
For this result, the game should be grateful for the constant participation in sales with 75% + discounts, a huge modding community, as well as tremendous replayability.
Recall that Civilization V, unlike last year's Civilization VI, brought a series of new innovations, thanks to which the game could be called a novelty with a clear conscience. The battlefield in Civilization V was first divided into hexagonal cells, thanks to the mechanics of "1 cell - 1 unit" gameplay was rid of the famous "death stacks", and on the game arena appeared city-states - small civilizations that do not claim to world domination. The subsequent large additions further
deepened and diversified the gameplay.
In the meantime, Civilization VI has sold 1.8 million copies in six months. And if the developers continue to play the fool instead of improving the game process, or at least not hold a sale with at least a 50 percent discount, there is no need to seriously improve this result. However, Civilization V at first was simply in a terrible state, and subsequently reached a status in which it can fight Civilization IV for the title of the best game in the series. Most likely, all the potential
of the sixth "Civilization" will also be revealed after a couple of major additions. Related Products :
