AMD, yesterday formally introduced the Ryzen Pro processors, which will fit into the finished computers in the next half year. However, we should not expect that this will happen in July - even the reviews will appear no earlier than August 29, and prices have not yet been announced. But we can state that yesterday's debut of Ryzen Pro did not affect the price level of consumer-grade processors.
The official database on the AMD website has already been updated with information on the characteristics of new processors, including markings. The last two characters responsible for the stepping version, the Ryzen processors remained the same - "AE". This suggests that before us is the same "good old" stepping B1. Accordingly, and the crystals are probably used the same, just encryption functions and protected downloads are activated additionally. Note that for
the older model Ryzen 7 Pro 1700X the complete cooling system is not provided, if you believe this table. Apparently, this is due to the "out of the blue" value of TDP, which reaches 95 watts.
If we turn to a direct comparison of the two versions of the Ryzen 7 1700X - "professional" and "consumer", we can find no mention of the status of the free multiplier for the first, and the lack of information about the complete cooling system. A boxed version of the delivery for the version "Pro" is also not provided.
Continuing to compare the characteristics of the two versions of the same processor, we find a limitation on the memory mode (DDR4-2667) for the "professional" version, as well as support for the FMA4 instruction set, whereas for the "consumer" version only FMA3 is prescribed. Related Products :
