This week information about the fundamental characteristics of video card on base of GT200 chip ( from NVIDIA ) began to appear .
Those cards are produced on 65 nm technology , the video chip GT200 will have 576 sq. mm area , witch will cause a high production prime cost - from $100 to $110. For comparison it is possible to mention the core area of video chip g92 and G 80- it was equal to 330 and 484 sq. mm respectively. The GT200 chip will include about one billion transistors.

NVIDIA extended among partners information that the standardized architecture ( second generation ) will ensure increase in gaming applications by 50% in comparison with first generation (due to the use of 240 stream processors ).

The characteristics of video card on base of GT200 chip are :

GeForce GTX 280 - > 512- bit system bus, 1 Gb GDDR- 3 memory , 240 stream processors;

GeForce GTX 260 - > 448- bit system bus, 896 mb GDDR- 3 memory 192 stream processors.

Both video card will support 3- way SLI, PCI express 2.0, DirectX 10.0 and OpenGL 2.1. The support Of directX 10.1 will not be realized.
