Intel and Micron technology companies presented the first NAND flash- memory , prepared according to the standards less than 40 nm. The MLC- chip with 32 Gbit density is produced with the application of 34- nm technical process.
The deliveries of commercial models will begin during June, and the mass production will start in the second-half year.
32 Gbit Memory are released according to 34 nm standards from plates with 300 mm diameter .On one base layer is placed approximately 1,6 TB memory. The area of one chip is equal to 172 sq. mm..
The basic applications of those new chips are solid-state disk (SSD). Let us recall, that Intel is assembled to use SSD in the mobile platform centrino 2.
