Yesterday we reported about the weak progress in the sphere of energy consumption reduction with passage on 45 nm technology for AMD processors . In this case only elder models, which always get the maximum frequency potential will get some improvement. Deneb processors with 2.8-3.0 GHz frequencies will get the TDP not more than 125 W, and the deneb models with lower frequency and propus processors without cache in the third level will be limited to the TDP value not more than 95 W.
Here is the clock frequencies of 45 nm AMD processors with TDP level not more than 95 W. In this case deneb socket AM3 processors will be satisfied by the frequencies in the range 2.4-2.8 GHz. The announcement of these processors is planned for the first quarter 2009.
Propus processors with four core without cache in the third level will also appear in the first quarter. They will originally exist only in Socket AM3, but their TDP level will not exceed 95 W. Frequency will remain the same – from 2.4 to 2.8 GHz. In the second quarter 2009 , AMD can leave the propus processors versions with TDP level not more than 45 W. Obviously, their frequencies will be severely limited. It is assumed that such processors will operate at 2.1 GHz frequency  .
Let us note that socket AM2+ deneb processors will exist only two quarters, then they will be replaced by its successors socket AM3. Related Products :
