In the second quarter , AMD will release the economical 45 nm processors socket AM3 with TDP level not more than 65 or 45 W , which will exist in the four- and three core version. Yesterday we got  some additional information about their characteristics. For 45 nm AMD models  was selected a five-digit numeration system  , moreover the four core propus and three core rana will relate to the series phenom X4 16x00 and Phenom X3 12x00 . The economical versions of these processors will be get the (e) suffix . Two models phenom X4 6x00e, will be released in the second quarter 2009 and will have the following characteristics: The elder version will work at frequencies from 2.3 to 2.6 GHz, hyperTransport 3.0 with 4.0 GHz frequency ,  TDP level will not exceed 65 W; however, the low-end model will br limited to TDP level not more than 45 W, but for this AMD will lower the core frequency to 2.1-2.4 GHz, but the hyperTransport 3.0 frequency will remain up to 3600 MHz . Let us recall that the given processors are deprived from cache in the third level. The three core rana processors series phenom X3 12x00e will have analogous characteristics, with exception of core quantity . Consequently, one models will have TDP not more than 65 W, the second not more than 45 W. Frequency range will be identical - both for core and hyperTransport 3.0 bus. For reduction in the energy consumption AMD have to sacrifice not only the cache in the third level and the clock frequency, but also to reduce the hyperTransport 3.0 frequency. Related Products :
