In order to support SLI technology , motherboards on base of Intel x58 chipset will not require the nForce 200 SLI chip . In order to save $30 (Price of nForce 200 SLI ) , motherboard producer have to passe a certification procedure for the concrete model and then the obtained license key will be stored in the motherboard BIOS.
Associates report that motherboard producer will have to pay for the certification only $5, in this case the checked motherboard will be able to completely officially support SLI technology .
Simultaneously it was reported that the checking (presence of NVIDIA key in the bios ) is not produced, and the owner of any Intel x58 chipset with the suitable configuration of PCI express x16 slots can include SLI support with ForceWare 180.xx drivers . Related Products :
