Associate with the reference to mercury research reports that in the third quarter of the present year AMD continued to be inferior to Intel (market share ), expressed in the quantity of sold processors. If in the second quarter AMD portion was 18.8% of all sold in the world processors, then in the third quarter this index was reduced to 17.7%. Let us note that in the fourth quarter 2006 AMD portion was 25.3%. In the third quarter , Intel portion on the processors market grew from 80% to 81.2%. A Year ago it was equal to 76.2%. Although the VIA portion was reduced from 1.3% to 1.1%, in the third quarter last year the company occupied only 0.8%. It is completely possible that the increase in VIA processors popularity in the second quarter this year was caused by the high demand for the notebook processors and scarcity of Intel atom processors  .
