GLOBALFOUNDRIES Company inherited from AMD the term status of technological alliance, headed BY IBM. This form of collaboration allows IBM partners within the shortest periods to master new technological processes. With the passage of AMD former capacities production  in the status of independent contract producer the correspondence to development rates will find a great significance for GLOBALFOUNDRIES. IBM Company on this week reported about the successes in the mastery of 28 nm technical process, which will be initially used for the production of chips with low energy consumption levels. Within the  32 nm and 28 nm technical processes IBM will use materials with high dielectric constant value (high- k) and transistors with the metallic lock (metal of gate). The first products, released on 28 nm technology, can appear in the second-half 2010. Migration from the 32 nm to 28 nm technical process for clients and IBM partners will be imperceptible . Passage on 28 nm technical process allowed some IBM clients to decrease the energy consumption more than 20% and to raise the speed more 40% in comparison with 45 nm products, and crystal area in this case decreased by two. Following the development stage of 28nm technologies must become the technical process, which ensures the possibility of complex production with high performance like chipset, processors and graphic chips. GLOBALFOUNDRIES Company plans to begin the production of chipset and video chip on AMD order within the 32 nm and 28 nm technical processes. Product on 32 nm technology will appear in 2010.
