The tendency to use economical processors ( Intel atom ) in server solutions is developed. As explains associate , dell company intends to present the server class system, based on VIA nano processors, traditionally utilized in notebooks and nettops.
In the standard case, dell company will place 12 servers on base of VIA nano processors with the frequency from 1.3 to 1.6 GHz. Each server will consume from 15 to 30 W, which approximately corresponds to one tenth of the typical server energy consumption . In this case, the speed of servers on base of VIA processors will be traditional, but Dell will propose them on the tempting prices - about $400 . Furthermore, such servers will be oriented for the market for Web- hosting services , where the computational loads are not so great, but the density of component arrangement must be maximum. | ||
