Nvidia proposed SLI support for Intel x58 chipset, which ensures support to LGA 1366 processors . Gradually, motherboard producers made SLI support accessible to all models on base of Intel x58 chipset, although originally they paid from each motherboard the fixed license fee. Yesterday NVIDIA in the official press release reported that SLI supports will be accessible, also, for Intel p55 motherboards, intended for LGA 1156 processors . On computex 2009 exhibitions, there were numerous motherboard models on base of this chipset, optimized under SLI. Among motherboard producers , which received right to the realization of SLI support using Intel p55, are named Intel, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and EVGA.
