When  AMD in the last conference stated talking about their plans and  demonstrated the models of "processors with four core in one crystal"  before the end of this year, not all believed in the reality of this announcement as soon. some time ago AMD  demonstrated  "photographs" of the processor core from the following generation, but now there is even a real models... AMD has reported today in the official press release about the completion stages of the technological process and design preparation for the release of engineering models so-called Native Quad-Core processors Opteron. In the literal translation these processors possess "four core ",  such processors will becaume the first-borns of architecture K8L; however, their dual cpre will fellows within  comparable periods. if  the announcement of the server versions K8L with four core will be in the middle of 2007. it is Possible to assume that the table of K8L processors  will show up  nearer the third quarter 2007, Once more let us recall that the processors of generation K8L  will have the new  Socket AM3, which symbolizes support to the memory of  type Ddr-3 and the bus HyperTransport 3.0. Processors  Socket AM3 can be used also in socket am2 motherboard , note that only socket am3 motherboard will support DDR 3 memory The amd AM2 will have only DDR2 .and respectively, instead of HyperTransport 3.0 they will use use the previous version . It follows  that using processors  Socket AM2 into the motherboard from Socket AM3 is impossible. Compatability will be preserved only in one direction, but this is already an enormous plus for  Socket AM2 owners . In a word, the  K8L is sufficiently close to get in the market: engineering simple models soon start soon, into sale  processors will show up approximately in a year.  about  K8L vs conroe  we will know later this year.
