SATA-600 Interface did not receive proper propagation among disk or motherboard; therefore, the desire of SSD producers to solve the problem of capacity due to the use of PCI express interface is completely clear. Major portion of solid-state disk with this interface type was prescribed in the segment of servers and work stations, since the high data transmission speeds are coupled with large volumes and high prices.
OCZ technology company on this week officially presented the solid-state disk revoDrive, which must become one of the solutions with PCI express x4 interface most accessible on the price. Let us recall that the internal RAID 0 array and the use of two controllers sandForce SF-1200 increase the speed of transmission information to 540 Mbyte(s)/s on reading operations, and to 480 Mbyte(s)/s on writing operations. The writing speed is equal to 400 Mbyte(s)/s.  The energy consumption level in the quiescent conditions does not exceed 3 W, under the load - 8 W. SSD series revoDrive can be used for the load of the operating system, but here they do not support TRIM function due to the use of RAID.
