Technology SLI was developed BY NVIDIA for video card equipped with interface PCI Express. It is officially supported only with motherboard built on the base of chipsets NVIDIA ; however, almost year ago some enthusiasts modded the current software for the unofficial support of such Technology, it was accessible for the owners motherboards, witch have two slots for the installation of video card.
OCWorkbench conducted curious experiment, for which they took the motherboard ASROCK 939DUAL-SATA2 on chipset uLi, equipped simultaneously with interfaces PCIe and AGP, and two video card, Leadtek winfast PX6600GT (PCI express) and Leadtek winfast A6600GT. Last two video card differ only by interface, having identical graphic processor and memory frequencies (475/900 MHz).

Experiment was pure success - uncommon SLI- system functioned in Windows XP pro SP2, after passing successfully tests in 3DMark 01, 03 and 05. Result was, 18491, 9680 and 4925 points correspondingly.

This experiment again confirm that the technology SLI is completely flexible, and its possibilities are held in control BY NVIDIA for marketing reasons only.

I have ASRock Motherboard \"4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0\" that has an AGP x8 and PCI Express x4: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=4CoreDual-SATA2%20R2.0 I have Radeon X1650 running on AGP x8: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/other/Pages/x1650-specifications.aspx Questions: 1) Can I crossfire it with some simple PCI Express card? 2) If \"yes\", than do I need a card with a similar chip set, like Radeon X1950 (it is the same card, but has a PCI Express connector... and 512-bit internal ring bus for memory reads instead of 256-bit like my Radeon X1650), or can I use any PCI Express card? 3) How do I do it!?
