Two new product NVIDIA geForce 9800 GTX+ and AMD ATI radeon HD 4850 were benchmarked by our associate. The results, of five popular contemporary games, allow to estimate, how much frames per second can obtain users for 229 dollars in case of NVIDIA product and 199 (and now only 179$) dollars, in case of AMD video card . The test system include:

processor: Intel core 2 Extreme QX9770

motherboard: EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI

Memory : 2 GB crucial ballistix 2,0 GHz, DDR3

HDD: 300 - GB disk western digital caviar SE

Windows vista ultimate 64-bit w/Service pack 1

the list of tested video cards : GeForce 9800 GTX, GeForce 8800 GTX, GeForce 8800 GT of 512MB, GeForce GTX 260, AMD Of radeon HD 3870 X2.

The performance Of the geForce 9800 GTX+ proved to be higher than AMD radeon HD 4850 in all five tests, but essential difference can be noted only in Crysis, where both card show a slow frame rate. However, in older games, such, as Half-Life 2, Oblivion, F.E.A.R, Enemy territory: Quake wars, the difference in performance was minimal 1-2 frame per second. Thus, with 179-199 dollars the radeon HD 4850 appears a completely competitive product - its productivity is almost equal to the geForce 9800 GTX+.

Hi! I bought a 9800gtx+ from Evga. Its Performance is really nice and in my opinion the Nvidia drivers are better than the Catalyst.

9800 sounds better but there\'s not a verry high difference between the two cards...they\'re kinda equalequal

i bought 4850 and it is very good, now i bought second too and i can play all games maxed ! :)
