The standards organization JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) is now finalizing the specifications for LPDDR3 (Low Power DDR3) - a new memory for mobile devices. The specificity of its use determines significant differences from DDR3 memory , which can be found within today's personal computers. If possible, this memory should be compact and energy-efficient, combining a significant amount and the proper level of performance.
LPDDR3 intended to replace the previous generation LPDDR2 mobile memory , which is used in today's smart phones and tablet PCs, such as iPad. Its first engineering samples created by Samsung Electronics, operating at data rates up to 1600 megabits per second, and a half times faster than LPDDR2, while energy consumption is reduced by 20 percent. Manufacturers intend to launch their products which will include a new memory, at the beginning of next year. Related Products :
