Today Intel announced the server versions of Atom Centerton .
The minimum TDP value is 6 watts, the a range of clock speeds for these processors - from 1.6 to 2.0 GHz. Each of the two physical cores Centerton supports Hyper-Threading, the memory controller with ECC support can cope with 8 GB DDR3 memory . It provide support for virtualization technology Intel VT and eight lines PCI Express 2.0. Finally, the most important feature of Atom processor series S1200 - the ability to work in a 64-bit environment.
Intel offer more than 20 processor-based on Centeron , via Accusys, CETC, Dell, HP, Huawei, Inspur, Microsan, Qsan, Quanta, Supermicro and Wiwynn. Cost of processors in this series starts at $ 54 for junior model (Atom S1220) in quantities of 1,000.
The next year, Intel will release the 22-nm processors Avoton, in 2014, the Atom processor for micro-server should move to 14-nm process.
