The trend towards continuous integration gradually leaves less and less space for discrete products of certain categories.
According to Berg Insights reports smartphones will actively select customers of navigation devices. Many smart phones are now equipped with GPS-sensors and a large selection of free cartographic material puts them in a favorable position with regard to specific browsers, not to mention the abundance of applications for smart phones with the function of geo-referenced data.
If in 2011, was sold 33 million navigators, last year the figure was 28 million. If the trend continues, by 2017 the market for specialized navigation devices shrink to 17 million units. Apparently, car navigation systems do not fall in the statistics . It must be said that some car manufacturers complement their products with removable navigators that can be used outside the vehicle.
In some parts of the world demand for navigators still growing: it is Eastern Europe, India and South America.
