Cooler Master has made a number of explanations about Intel Haswell , (the state C6/C7) and compatibility with PSU.
The company noted that around Haswell compatibility with power supply units has developed quite a lot of myths. Most of them are not true. For example : "most power supplies are not compatible with Haswell", "to build a system with Haswell I need a certified power supply", "Haswell only works with PSU on base of direct current converters," " Haswell need power supplies certified 80 + Gold "and" Haswell will require a separate 12-volt bus and a common bus will not work. " But the company acknowledged that some old power supplies during the transition to the idle state Haswell processors will consume about 5 watts more than they otherwise would.
In sleep mode, the consumption of Intel Haswell processors is less than 1 watt. In the case of incompatible blocks consumption will grow up to 6 watts. Finally, according to Cooler Master, motherboard manufacturers will be obliged to provide a BIOS option to disable the new energy-saving modes for Haswell processors . In general, the problem can be solved.
