In the minds of many consumers, MediaTek company devices are associated with Chinese manufacturers second-tier, which are widespread in the public sector market.
According to Mobile World MediaTek CFO David Ku (David Ku), MediaTek has both technological and economic advantage over Qualcomm. In particular, MediaTek has released the first real eight-core processor, which was followed by the announcement of the decision with eight cores and support for 4G, as well as a quad 64-bit processor with support for 4G. Koo added that in 2014 MediaTek is going to actively move to 64-bit architectures and 4G technologies.
The main problem for MediaTek is increasing brand recognition outside of China, but Koo believes that the company has the opportunity to develop in this direction.
