AMD announced two server-based computing accelerators graphics solutions architecture GCN - FirePro S9150 and FirePro S9050. As stated in the official press release, the model FirePro S9150 is the first accelerator in its class, who managed to overcome the barrier of 2 teraflops in double precision calculations, making it the fastest among potential competitors.
The heart of FirePro S9150 uses graphical solution Hawaii with 2816 stream processors, distributed between 44 computing units. Claimed peak performance in single precision is 5.07 teraflops, double precision - half as much as 2.53 teraflops. The accelerator is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR5 memory with ECC support and a 512-bit interface, bandwidth memory reaches 320 GB / s. Power level FirePro S9150 is 235 watts.
FirePro S9150 supports DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.3 and OpenCL 1.2, drivers with support for OpenCL 2.0, AMD is going to release in the fourth quarter of 2014. The solution also has the support of proprietary technologies AMD Stream and PowerTune.
Peak performance FirePro S9050 when processing numbers of single precision reaches 3.23 teraflops, the processing of double-precision numbers - 806 gigaflops. The video card is based on the GPU from 1792 stream processors (28, computational units) and is equipped with 12 GB of memory and 384-bit memory interface and a capacity 264 GB / s. TDP level of the accelerator is 225 watts.
FirePro S9150 and FirePro S9050 will be available to customers through the AMD partners in the third quarter of this year. Related Products :
