Cooler master company announced the hybrid cooler hydra 8800 for video card geForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 Ultra, This cooler resembles to the standard air solution, but here there is a hidden water cooling system.

Cooler master Hydra 8800 has copper base and aluminum edges, it contains three thermal tubes. The fan has the standard size 75 X 24 mm and it work at 1800 rp/min, creating a noise level 19 db, and pumping over 14 cubic feet air per minute.

Hot air from the cooler is ejected outside the case . The cooler base ensures contact not only with all memory microcircuits, but also with the load-bearing elements.

Producer reports that the use of liquid cooling system simultaneously with regular fan allow to reduce the video chip temperature on average by 3 degree Celsius. Cooling unit can be used as water-block. In this case the video chip temperature can be lowered by more than 20 degree Celsius in comparison with standard air solution. The weight of Cooler master hydra 8800 is equal to 505 deg.
