In today's world there are three main technology for wireless charging gadgets. Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Power Matters Alliance (PMA) and the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP). Groups WPC and PMA is used in many similar charge by the simple principle of electromagnetic induction, whereas group A4WP, organized by Samsung and Qualcomm, called for the electromagnetic resonance, which allows for a little more freedom in the placement of the transmitting and receiving antennas (less strict orientation and the ability to spread the device at a distance of 3 cm).
Among the trio just before the market went consortium WPC. Under trademark Qi can now be found wireless charging in many public places in Europe and the United States. In response, the group PMA and A4WP started to join forces and even started to work on a single standard, but so far, according to the report fresh Digitimes Research, a group of WPC still leads in the number of supporters and volume of certified products.
It is reported that at the end of 2014 certificate for compliance with WPC received 682 products from 128 vendors or manufacturers. For comparison, the PMA certification received only 24 products from eight vendors (group A4WP such data not presented). There are companies that are involved in all three associations: it's Samsung and LG Electronics. And there are companies that apparently are not interested in wireless charging - this is Apple, Lenovo, and Xiaomi Technology.
