Leading specialists of Audi brand in the profile shared his vision of the event in the automotive electronics in the coming years, according to EE Times website. Recall that Audi is working with NVIDIA in the creation of advanced driver assistance systems using Terga processors. However, Audi specialists are convinced that none of the processors used in vehicles can not assume the role of "brain", fully responsible for the operation of other systems.
Each cluster in automotive control systems has its own area of responsibility: electrical power plant, climatic conditions and so on. Clusters can use specialized processors in accordance with the application area. At the same time, the structure should remain modular and upgradeable. In fact, the car will resemble a server rack: any module can be replaced by a more modern. It is planned to use the NVIDIA processor, Qualcomm, MobilEye and others. The exchange of information between the clusters is carried out on the gigabit network interface, but with the outside world, they are bound to communicate wirelessly. The modular layout used by other manufacturers - BMW and Bosch, as a representative of Audi explains. The Bavarian automaker, by the way, is ready to cooperate with MobilEye and Intel.
Accordingly, it will take more than a year, although in the next decade it will become a reality. Interestingly, the share of electronics in the vehicle cost will continue to grow. With the current 30%, it will increase by 2030 to 50%. Related Products :
