One day in September owners of HP inkjet printers have found that printers had refused to work with cartridges from other manufacturers. Preparation for such a diversion was carried out in advance, even if the user of the printer for some time did not update the software. Later, HP recognized that branded cartridges with work identification chip will be able to work without problems in the printer after refueling.
Publication on the HP website pages brought some clarity to the history issue. First of all, the problem touched inkjet devices designed for use in office. The new version of the software requires that the cartridge has original identification chip. If the cartridge is detected cloned chip, the printer may refuse to print. However, for most people are offended HP offers a solution to the problem: a couple of weeks it will release a firmware printers update, which excludes newly embedded dynamic cartridge authentication procedure.
Those who are satisfied with HP policies, can continue to use the version of the software, prevent attempts to work with cartridges from other manufacturers.
