Ambitions in the segment of services for the production of finished PCs and laptops, the Chinese company Lenovo demonstrates for a long time: where it does not manage to "grow organically," it resorts to acquisitions. In the Japanese market, for example, Lenovo intends to take over the profile business of Fujitsu. It turns out that, according to the latest IDC data, there is still a force in the world capable of resisting the onslaught of the Chinese giant. Thus, following
the results of the first quarter of HP Inc. For the first time in four years I was able to regain the status of the largest PC manufacturer
According to the authors of the report, the revenge of HP Inc. Contributed to a well-formed model lineup of laptops. In the last quarter HP Inc. Shipped 13.3 million ready PCs, which is 13.1% more than the same period last year. Now this American brand occupies 21.8% of the market, while Lenovo is satisfied with 20.4%. I must say that Lenovo's production volumes increased by only 1.7% over the year.
In the first quarter of this year, 60.3 million desktop PCs, laptops and workstations were produced. This is 0.6% more than in the first quarter of 2016.
And yet, as IDC experts note, PC users in their majority prefer to postpone the moment of modernization, but do not change the computer to devices of other form factor like the same tablets or smartphones. Demand for the latter is stabilizing, so the PC market will be further influenced by such factors as the renewal of the corporate computer park and the demand for gaming solutions in the consumer sector.
