In the fourth quarter , intel company will present immediately three four core processors ( bloomfield ) with nehalem architecture . One model, which works at 3.2 GHz frequency , will belong to the extreme edition family with all special future like the free multiplier and the high price ( $999 ). However, the low-end bloomfield model with 2.66 GHz frequency will cost $300-500 .
Due to The need for passage to another platform (LGA 775 - > LGA 1366) , bloomfield processors cannot compose strong competition to core 2 Quad processors , which are ready to work in the majority of up-to-date motherboards with LGA 775 socket. Bloomfield will require a sufficiently expensive motherboards with LGA 1366, and also three memory banks . All these factors increase the cost of bloomfield system. Let us note that all three bloomfield models will support SMT technology , which allow one core to simultaneously process two thread. | ||
