According to our review (Intel core i7 940-review) , speed increase after the passage from Yorkfield to Bloomfield in games will be completely moderate. From other side, tests were conducted with the participation of bloomfield processors stepping B0, which have the status of engineering models, and it could not reflect the real speed level of series processors, which must be based on  C0 stepping. Today appeared a official document from intel, sent to the company partners  . It contained the information about the speed increase after the transfer from Core 2 Extreme QX9770 (3.2 GHz) to the processor core i7 extreme 965 (3.2 GHz), based on bloomfield core  . As reports Intel, in the 3D games bloomfield ensures up to 52% faster performance, in images rendering tasks : 38% , and 41% on editing and video conversion applications. In independent tests we could observe, that increase in the games speed after the passage to Bloomfield rarely approaches 10%, and sometimes it is simply negative.
