In recent conference NVIDIA representatives noted that the passage on 55 nm technical process is accomplished also in the high-end segment. Thus, NVIDIA work on the advance of GT206 chip ( 55 nm ) , which must replace the 65nm GT200. The Primary mission for GT206 consist in a reduction in the prime cost , later appeared some information about NVIDIA desire to raise the frequency potential. Associate asserts that AMD has already a accurate response to the 55 nm chip GT206. In the following year AMD will release the 40 nm RV870 chip, But now AMD company can release the 55 nm RV790 chip , which will become the faster RV770 version . Actually, AMD already attempted to release the noted video card in series on base of RV770 chip , but this initiative did not brought a practical realization, since RV770 did not succeed in working at high frequencies . Now AMD plans to provide some changes at the chip design level , which allow to raise the RV770 frequency range within the 55 nm technology.
