The promising interface USB 3.0 promised a tenfold increases in the data transmission speed in comparison with USB 2.0, but only in theory. Devices with this interface type will be pretty fast.
As reports associate with the reference to consortium USB-IF representatives , USB 3.0 interface will increase the practical data transmission speed step by step. With a similar evolutionary way passed devices with USB 2.0 interface : if in the first products the data transmission speed was equal to 250 Mbit/s, then it approached only recently the theoretical maximum 480 Mbit/s.
The prototype of external hard disk with USB 3.0 interface , shown on CES 2009, demonstrated the data transmission speed of 165 Mb/s on reading operations and 125 Mb/s on write operations . The first generation products will hardly ensure the data transmission speed of more than 150 Mb/s. In principle, it is completely sufficient for contemporary device - even high-speed SSD rarely has a reading speed of more than 150 Mb/s. With time ,USB 3.0 will be able to ensure the data transmission speeds , near the theoretical 600 Mb/s. Related Products :
