In the near future, precisely in the first quarter of the present year, AMD company intends to release four core processors with small energy consumption , socket AM3: Athlon X4 605e and Athlon X4 6xxe. The processor athlon X4 605e will operate at 2.5 GHz frequency, it will have 2 Mb cache in the second level, but the maximum energy consumption will not exceed 65 W. The second processor athlon X4 6xxe  , will operate at the frequency from 2.1 GHz to 2.4 GHz. This will be the first four core processor with TDP 45 W from AMD  . As it is expected,  this processor can get a good overclock potential. AMD company also plans to release three core processors, in the second quarter of the present year: Athlon X3 405 (65 W) and 4xxe (45 W). Besides desktop solutions with small energy consumption, AMD company plans to develop this direction with the production of notebook processors. On CES 2009 exhibition, AMD presented the processor athlon neo MV-40, which will be used in ultrathin notebooks. This processor will operate at 1.6 GHz frequency with 512 KB cache, and its energy consumption will be only 15 W. Related Products :
