After declaring about the official SLI support using motherboard on base of Intel p55 chipset, NVIDIA company did not share with community the technical and economic details. In case of Intel x58 the SLI support cost to motherboard producers $5 per unit , moreover, it was necessary to pass a certification procedure . However, later important producers began to open access to SLI support free of charge.

Associates explained, on what conditions NVIDIA will approve SLI support for motherboard based on Intel p55 chipset. Motherboard producer will have to pay a one time fees $30 000, and to also transfer NVIDIA three dollars for each sold motherboard, which supports SLI. Just like the X58, NVIDIA will allow special program key for the bios , which will allow the motherboard to officially support SLI.

Lynnfield processors have a built-in PCI express controller, which works with video card according to PCI express x8 + PCI express x8. Desiring to obtain a faster configuration producer will be forced again to use the chip nForce 200.
