Passage to the new architecture Intel nehalem was tightened for more than a year. The first processors core i7, which use the new socket type  LGA 1366, were presented in 2008. After almost a year, during September 2009, Intel added the four core processors core i5 and Core i7, based on  lynnfield core and intended for LGA 1156. Their cost began from $200. Finally, in 3 January will begin the completing stage of passage to the new micro-architecture. Intel presented seven new processors, which cost from $84 to $284. They are all based on clarkdale core, that has at their disposal two processor core with the support Of hyper-Threading, 4 mb cache in the third level, graphic core, dual-channel memory controller and PCI express controller. The core has a two-crystal layout. It is made with the use of 32 nm technological process : processor core, cache in the third level and QPI controller. All remaining controllers are located on the second crystal, made on 45 nm technical process. The basic difference between clarkdale and Lynnfield is the quantity of processor core and cache in the third level ( reduced ). In this case, the new processor now has the built-in graphic core,  which support the new instructions : AES, intended for cryptographic algorithms. Furthermore, we should note that formally the PCI express controller in the new processors is capable of working only with one video card, which makes impossible the work of  SLI and CrossFire technologies. Furthermore, the algorithm of  turbo boost technology became less aggressive, in comparison with Lynnfield. Processors on clarkdale core are capable of raising their clock frequency maximum by two steps (266 MHz), while lynnfield are overclocked maximum by five steps (666 MHz). The represented processors are divided in three groups: Core i 5 -6xx: two core, support hyper-Threading, Turbo boost, instructions AES, 4 mb cache in the third level, the clock frequency of the integrated graphic core 733 or 900 MHz; Core i 3 -5xx: two core, support hyper-Threading, 4 mb cache in the third level, the clock frequency of integrated graphic core 733 MHz. There is no support of  AES instructions and turbo boost technology; Pentium g6950: two core, 3 mb cache in the third level, the clock frequency of the integrated graphic core 533 MHz. There is no support of  AES instructions and SSE 4.x, technologies turbo boost and Hyper-Threading .   With the new processors were simultaneously presented new chipset : h55, H57 and Q57. First two are oriented to usual users, and the third for corporate. The main distinctive special feature is the support of special bus FDI, intended for signal transfer from the integrated graphic core to the monitor port, located on the motherboard . Thus, in spite of the declared complete  compatibility with all chipsets  fifth series and processors LGA 1156, some limitations exist . In order to use the integrated graphic core, it is necessary to use a processor on clarkdale core and motherboard on one of three presented chipset. But for SLI and Crossfire construction,  it is possible to purchase motherboard on base of P55 chipset with processor, based on lynnfield core. It is completely regular, that even elder core i 5 -6xx will be inferior in games and the majority of tasks than core i 5-750, which has at their disposal four core, 8 mb cache in the third level and more aggressive Turbo boost. However, in comparison with LGA 775 processors and competitive AMD decisions those new processors is completely worthily. Thus, Core i 5-661 demonstrate the productivity level, close to Core 2 Quad q9550, Core 2 Duo e8500 and Phenom II X4 965. Core i 3-540 can be compared to Core 2 Quad q8xxx and Q9400 and confidently goes around Core 2 Duo e7600. The low end Pentium g6950, is compared to Pentium e6500 and Athlon II. Related Products :
