The newest Intel processors have a built-in memory controller , which can work only with DDR- 3 modules, whereas some motherboards with LGA 775 can work with DDR-2 memory modules . According to Intel company, mass demand began to displace in favor of more contemporary processors, which allow to raise profit rate and average sales price . This means that more DDR3 memory will be required in the next months.
Associate reports that the prices of DDR- 3 memories continue to grow. For example, on the contract market the cost of DDR- 3 modules with 2 Gb volume in this month increased by 2-5%. Break in price between DDR-2 and DDR- 3 modules with identical volume already exceeded 25%. The Korean memory producers and some distributor intend to propose to their client's DDR-2 modules in DDR3 modules . Such measures will allow to get rid of DDR-2 reserves and to reduce break in the price between the two types memory modules . Related Products :
