Blind or visually impaired people are not able to take advantage of modern smartphones or tablets. A possible solution to the problem are special displays that can display information in the form of Braille characters, but so far due to the complex structure, such devices are still too expensive for mass use.
Electronics manufacturers have repeatedly offered specials phones with large buttons, tactile sensors and advanced features text-to-speech, but these devices were not very comfortable for everyday use, so not many of them have received a commercial embodiment.
Indian designer from New Delhi, presented a smart phone for blind .
As planned Dagar, the phone screen should consist of a set of points, which can change its height (just like the pixels change color in conventional displays). Thus, the screen can display text written in Braille.
The first functioning prototype phone for the blind will be released after six months.
