Microsoft from 2012 is developing a holographic communication system that provides a realistic virtual twin user.  The project is called Viewport, and in addition to the accompanying software, it includes a set of infrared cameras and projectors. Viewport capabilities allow you to create highly accurate presence illusion  , and eventually Microsoft plans to make it a part of its service Skype, of course, paid. Note that Cisco and Microsoft already have similar technology, but, apparently, the product represented by Microsoft, will be more popular due to the prevalence of Skype, however, much depends on the pricing policy of the company.
