Kingston Technology company announced solid-state drives SSDNow KC380.
Solid State Drive Kingston SSDNow KC380 is made in the form factor of 1.8 inches, so it is well suited to installation in laptops, tablets and netbooks with reduced bay for storage. The device weight less than hard disk drives, which are greater in terms of reliability and speed.
In SSDNow KC380 is used controller SandForce SF2241. The interface is SATA 6 Gb / s. According to the manufacturer, the sequential read speed up to 550 MB / s sequential write - 520 MB / s.
The series includes models with 60 and 120 GB. Maximum performance in the read blocks of 4 KB is equal to 86,000 IOPS. Maximum performance in the recording mode in blocks of 4 KB depends on the volume : for younger model 79000 IOPS, for senior - 48,000 IOPS. In the case of random access blocks of 4KB performance for read operations is 14,000 and 17,000 IOPS, and on write operations - 77,000 and 45,000 IOPS for SSD of 60 GB and 120, respectively.
