In accordance with the agreed plan , Intel will start from 31 July supply chips, the eighth series (Lynx Point) stepping C2, which eliminates the defect with reference to a USB-drive when resuming from sleep. Especially since the current C1 stepping famed another defect that allows to overclock the processors Haswell with the suffix K even if the chipset do not support this function originally .
Intel has traditionally inform customers about their intentions to upgrade the motherboard. And although the production of the latter will be phased out, the products on base of the eighth series chips is still available. From July 29 buyers will be able to get motherboards Intel DH87RL, DB85FL, DZ87KLT-75K, DH87MC and DQ87PG, based on the C2 stepping respective chipsets. The motherboards will be equipped with the new BIOS version. Of course, other motherboard manufacturers will set their own terms for transition to stepping C2. Related Products :
