Biostar company , specializing in the production of motherboards, reported that the motherboard Hi-Fi Z87W successfully passed the certification confirming full compatibility with the operating system Microsoft Windows 8.1. Certification Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) ensures stable operation of the computer that is running Microsoft Windows 8.1.
According to Biostar, this is the world's first system board based on processor Intel Haswell, supporting Windows 8.1.
Biostar Hi-Fi Z87W was showed in March at CeBIT 2013 in Hanover. It is built on the chipset Intel Z87 Express and equipped with four slots for memory modules (supports up to DDR3 in 2800). The motherboard has a slot PCI Express 3.0 x16, slot PCI Express 2.0 x16 (x4) slot and two PCI Express 2.0 x1 and PCI. Equipment includes six SATA 6 Gb / s, four-port USB 3.0, video output HDMI, DVI and D-Sub. The power system is based on an eight-processor scheme, and the characteristics of board include support for technologies Puro Hi-Fi, Smart Speed LAN, BIO-Remote, Rapid Switch and Charger Booster.
