Until now it was believed that Intel will start serial production of 10-nm products in the first half of 2017. However, recently some sources have expressed concern about Intel pace of preparation for migration to the 10-nm process technology. According to them, the company in December this year will start to purchase the necessary technological equipment, although it had previously planned to do so in March. It is expected that the serial production of 10-nm Intel products will be deployed in the enterprise in Israel, and test products descend from the conveyor of the enterprise in the US state of Oregon.
Intel representatives refused to comment on anything, and recalled that the company has no claims on terms of the implementation of the 10-nm technology .
In this case, Intel Chief Financial Officer explained that even the increased costs associated with the development of 10-nm process technology, make the transition to use it economically viable. Transistor density increases in this case is stronger than the density capital costs.
