Last week we talked about the announcement transfer of chipset nForce 790i SLI from February to later period. But here motherboard on base of standard design are available since January .

New information about the announcement periods of nForce 790i SLI appeared today . The release of chipset nForce 790i SLI and nForce 790i Ultra SLI is now planned for the second quarter this year. Both chipset will ensure the support of Intel processors with 1600 MHz bus, and also Ddr-3 memories . The chipset nForce 790i Ultra SLI, besides the higher overclocking potential, will ensure the support of Ddr3-2000 through EPP expansions , whereas usual nForce 790i SLI will be limited to the modest memory operation modes . Both chipset will provide support to the technologies 3-way SLI and Hybrid SLI; moreover PCI Express 2.0 slots will communicate with chipset components without mediators (chip- switchboard nForce 200 ) which is present in nForce 780i SLI.

The chipset nForce 780i SLI does not enjoy special popularity among motherboard producers , since its functionality level is not so distant from nForce 680i SLI. It is expected that in the third quarter , the price of Ddr-3 memory will begin to be reduced, and the chipset nForce 790i SLI will find higher popularity.
