Motherboard on the base of chipset nForce 790i SLI and its more expensive version nForce 790i Ultra SLI had to enjoy large popularity due to the high overclocking potential , the ability to work with DDR 3-2000 memory and also the possibility to work in SLI regime without any limitations. We regret only that such motherboard are in price niche from $350 and above. The announcement of this chipsets is already close. The processor core 2 Extreme QX9650 (3.0 GHz) using this chipset is completely able to overclock up to 4.6 GHz ( air cooled).  But if we look to the overclock limit on the system bus, then using dual core processor core 2 Duo e8400 (3.0 GHz) this chipset reach the frequency 615 MHz.  Present system on base of this chipset with two video cards GeForce 8800 Ultra is ready to reach 31 000 points in 3DMark'06 after some overclock. Related Products : | ||

| That\'s a nice clock for a QX9650.
I currently have a 790i Ultra mobo with a QX9650, but for some reason the highest clock I can reach is 3.8 around a multiplier of 11 or 12 with n/2 ratio enabled.
This is bugging the hell out of me.
My current 3DMark06 score is 18320 running 2x9600GT in SLI. |
