AMD company had to show B3 stepping Phenom processors on exhibition CeBIT 2008 in the beginning of March . The series processors  had to appear in the second quarter. Some sources were assured that B3 stepping  will not bring improvements in the frequency potential. Yesterday appeared two news about the changes in AMD plans. Thus, during March  this year AMD will present a limited Phenom processors models  : Phenom 9100e - > 1.8 GHz, four core, TDP=65 W; Phenom 8400 - > 2.1 GHz, three core, TDP=95 W; Phenom 8600 - > 2.3 GHz, three core, TDP=95 W. All these processors will be based on B2 stepping . The processor Phenom 9150e (1.8 GHz) will be based on B3 stepping , it will appear only in the second quarter, as it was expected. Many B3 stepping processors will begin to appear only in May-June : Phenom 9750 - > 2.4 GHz, four core, TDP=95 W and TDP=125 W; Phenom 8750 - > 2.4 GHz, three core, TDP=95 W; Phenom 8650 - > 2.3 GHz, three core, TDP=95 W; Phenom 8450 - > 2.1 GHz, three core, TDP=95 W. All B3 stepping processor will have "xx50" number model - The processors Phenom 9550 (2.2 GHz) and Phenom 9650 (2.3 GHz) stepping B3 will appear in the beginning of the second quarter, as it was planned. The processor Phenom 9950 (2.6 GHz) stepping B3 will appear only in the beginning of the third quarter. Related Products :

	sooo will Intel QuadCore, still be better than the 9950(2.6ghz)?????

	yes . and even far better , the Q6600 (2.4 ghz) is faster then 2.6 Ghz amd phenom . In addition the intel cpu overclock to 3.8 ++ GHZ , while amd cpu are limited to 2.8 ghz or 3 Ghz.

First off, overclocking is for people that have way too much money to spend on their own stupidity. I can\'t afford to replace hardware every 6 months. The phenom\'s had a problem in the first edition, so they are generally going t be slower, but amd has brought it under control. The delayed release is probably to make sure that it does not have the launch issues of it\'s predecessor, the phenom we presently have. Only when we have the revamped chips, will we actually know what they\'ll do stock. I have run into nothing so far that my 6400+ black edition won\'t presently do (without any overclocking), so why would it matter to overclock? Nothing but benchmark numbers. The phenom quads, should get the performance they need, from their slightly more advanced architecture. AMD does have the niceity though, that they will hold their new line back, even while losing money, in order to maximize the quality of the processors on release, rather than pushing garbage down our throats, as Intel has done for so long. Also, with the extreme graphiscs advantages of my four crossfire slots (only on AMD chipsets), my graphics are still pretty unreal, and lag is nonexistent in all of my games, includuing CRYSIS. Furthermore, AMD is more than likely focused on the AM3 chipset that they are presently in development of. The only worry I have is that the 9950 will be sold just to pay for the development, being almost immediately overshadowed by the AM3. Perhaps, this will be the true point where AMD conquers INTEL again. Keep in mind that AMD processors owned Intels for almost 5 years, and intel has only ruled for 1-2 years, so I just say don\'t give up on AMD yet.

	I totally disagree with u about overclocking . Overclocking is for poor people whom can\'t afford for high end software (like Ultra version and extreme version etc...) , They overclock their budget processor , video card and ram in order to reach higher performance similar or equal to overpriced product .

	i completely disagree with your \"theory\" about poor people choosing to overclock... overclocking started out high end and only recently have low end boards even started to offer basic overclocking ability. it\'s a known fact that overclocking can lead to premature crapification of your parts, and poor people can not afford new parts

Overclocking is for poor people , since AMD duron days , The tick is to overclock the cheap part in order to reach high end performance @ low cost . For me overclocking high end part like the E8500 or Qx is worthless since those processors are already fast and high priced . However, getting a celeron E1200 , then overclock to 3.0Ghz + is the heart of overclocking , the same apply for P3 -duron , p4 - Athlon xp .....
