The idea to add external graphics system in laptop is there for a long time. Experiments in this area have done MSI, Razer and Alienware, but their solutions were too niche and special spread was not received.
The situation may change with the assistance of AMD, which intends to standardize external graphics accelerators for laptops. Apparently, AMD will offer an open solution that includes the interface of the software, and allowing the use of any graphics card. Exchange of data between a laptop and an external unit can be performed by any high-speed connection such as Thunderbolt or USB 3.1.
Robert Hallock , chief marketing officer, AMD graphics, the social network Facebook has promised more details soon. Perhaps an appropriate announcement will be made at the same time with one of the new graphics cards AMD.
