POSTER:computer news || NVIDIA DISPLAY SHOWED ZERO LATENCY FOR VR HELMETS
DATE:2016-04-08
At the conference, GTC 2016 Group Vice President NVIDIA Developer - David Lubke - demonstrated a prototype display without delay. Such displays, according to the company, will help to overcome a number of inconveniences in virtual reality. The delay is due to motion sensors, training system and display characteristics. NVIDIA has found a way - offered a screen frame refresh rate at 1700 Hz.
Oculus VR helmets and HTC companies rely on displays with a frame rate of 90 Hz. In other words, images are updated every 11 ms. For NVIDIA display prototype frames are updated 20 times more often - once every 0.58 ms.
