In the near future, LG Display will increase the production of OLED-displays for smartphones. In OLED-panels produced by LG Display, not only LG itself is interested, but also the Chinese company Xiaomi. This was reported by our colleagues from GSMArena .
LG Display will produce curved OLED displays for the new LG V30 smartphone. Xiaomi already uses curved OLED-displays LG for smartphone Mi Note 2 and plans to install them in another top-end smartphone.
Other companies are also interested in OLED panels LG Display. So, the Internet giant Google offered LG $ 880 million in order to increase the production of OLED-displays. LG Display screens can be used in future smartphones Pixel 2. LG also expects to sign a contract with Apple to supply OLED-panels for the new iPhone.
Currently, LG Display produces 22,000 OLED displays per month. After commissioning of new production lines, it will be able to produce up to 37,000 OLED panels monthly.
