MediaTek semiconductor company working on a new mid-range mobile chip, which will join the series Helio. It will be marketed under the name Helio P35 and will compete with processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 .
According to sources, in the single-chip MediaTek Helio P35 platform will 10 core processor and graphics accelerator Mali-G71, which provides a 40 percent performance boost compared to the Mali-T880. 10 core processor will include two 64-bit Cortex-A73 cores with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz.
Helio P35 screens will be supported with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), up to 10 GB of RAM type LPDDR4, drives UFS 2.1 and LTE Cat.10 with download speeds up to 450 Mbit / s. Also, the new chip provides support for smart phones fast charging technology Pump Express 3.0.
As expected, MediaTek Helio P35 will be released in the third quarter of 2017. It must become a cost effective alternative to chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 for Chinese manufacturers of smartphones. The output of the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. It will receive an eight-core processor with a clock frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, Adreno 512 graphics and will be endowed with support for up to 8GB of RAM and LTE Cat.10. The first smartphone based on Snapdragon 660 will release the Chinese manufacturers Vivo and Oppo.
