ADATA company announced another line of SSD-drives with PCI-Express interface in M.2 (NGFF) version in addition to the already released ADATA XPG SX7000 and ADATA XPG SX8000. The novelty is called ADATA XPG SX9000.
Unlike its predecessors, using the controller Silicon Motion SM2260G and 3D V-NAND (TLC and MLC), this drive is based on the controller Marvell 88SS1093. The exact specifications of the novelty are left out of the picture, we only know that as a flash memory will be used Micron 3D MLC V-NAND, and the maximum volume in the line will be 1 TB.
ADATA promised to announce more detailed specifications (speed characteristics, assortment of volumes and modifications, bundling, warranty period) of new products in the framework of the forthcoming exhibition Computex 2017, which will open in five days, on May 30.
There are two interesting moments here. Firstly, this drive is unique in that for the first time we see the Marvell 88SS1093 controller in conjunction with flash memory not from Toshiba-SanDisk / WD, as in Toshiba XG3, Toshiba RD400, WD Black PCIe, Plextor M8Pe, Plextor M8Se. And the memory from Micron also with vertical layout of cells (3D V-NAND), whereas in the mentioned SSD memory is traditional planar.
Secondly, it can be noted that the presence of this controller is expanding on the market. Compare with its predecessor Marvell 88SS9293, which could be found in essence only in the form of Kingston HyperX Predator, although its characteristics did not disappoint . Related Products :
