As we already reported the processors core 2 Duo e8xxx and Core 2 Quad q9xxx stepping E0 will appear in the second-half of this month. It is known that this stepping will improve the energy characteristics of processors, and overclockers timidly hoped for an improvement in the frequency potential. The first impressions about the overclocking abilities of E0 processors appeared - and now it is possible to find the descriptions of experiments with the engineering models core 2 Duo e8500 (3.16 GHz) and Core 2 Quad q9650 (3.0 GHz) with air cooling, and Core 2 Duo e8600 (3.33 GHz) with liquid nitrogen. E0 processor examined demonstrate a pleasant capability . To the frequency 4.0 GHz they easily overclock with the core voltage approximately 1.2-1.25 v.

An increase in the voltage to 1.38-1.42 v allow to overclock those processors to 4.4-4.5 GHz. Under liquid nitrogen the processor core 2 Duo e8600 (3.33 GHz) E0 stepping can overclock to 6.147 GHz, in this case it is capable to preserve stability under load.
